Samsung’s Galaxy S23 was released more than six months ago, thus it’s about time that the leak of its replacement occurred. There are fresh renders of the upcoming Galaxy S24, following tradition, and you may recognize anything. The rounded frame has been replaced with a flat border that strongly resembles the iPhone.
Steve “Onleaks” McFly, who has a reputation for releasing precise but constrained information regarding future devices, is the source of the new photos. These are renders based on leaked CAD files, not official renderings or pictures of an actual gadget. This implies that certain elements, like as colors, finishes, and screen bezels, are essentially educated estimates. We’re interested in the S24 leak since, generally speaking, the overall shape and component location are accurate.
The Galaxy S24 leak appears to be similar to the majority of previous non-folding smartphones released in the last few years. The front is a glass screen, the back is a glass panel, and the middle is a metal frame. That metal frame has a different shape than the S23, which may not be to everyone’s taste. The metal frame of the S23 and other new Samsung smartphones tapers in where it meets the glass on the front and back, with a tiny bulge toward the middle. Like the iPhone, the S24 leak shows that the frame is entirely flat on all sides.
The S23’s rounded design contributes to the phone’s marginally more comfortable grip. Should the S24+ receive the same treatment (as it most likely will), the phone may become somewhat more cumbersome. With small phones like the S24, which is nearly identical in size to the S23—OnLeaks claims we’re looking at a 6.17-inch OLED panel instead of 6.1 inches for the S23—that’s less of an issue. According to the leak, the S24 will be somewhat higher and slimmer than the S23 (146.3 by 70.9 by 7.6 mm), measuring 147 by 70.5 by 7.6 mm. The iPhone 15 measures 147.6 by 71.6 by 7.8 mm in contrast.
The three rear cameras in the renders have the same floating design as the S23, although the sensors are not mentioned. The latest S23 includes a 50MP primary, combined with a 10MP 3x telephoto and 12MP ultrawide. The inclusion of an antenna window on the right edge is the only other noteworthy design feature. This is allegedly for Ultra-Wideband (UWB), which can be utilized for tracking tags and other UWB devices, according to OnLeaks. UWB is now limited to the S23 Plus and S23 Ultra, thus the S24 would benefit from this improvement.
Early in the next year, if Samsung sticks to its regular release schedule, we should be able to witness the S23 family.
